Fiona, I strongly recommend not getting all your points of view from the ABC: In 2012, Tony Abbott did more media interviews than Julia Gillard. In 2012, Tony Abbott did more television interviews than Julia Gillard. In 2012, Tony Abbott did more radio interviews than Julia Gillard. In 2012, Tony Abbott did more Sunday programmes than Julia Gillard.

Ohhhh...thank you for another belly laugh out loud moment in the morning, Fiona! Another one worth printing and sharing.

Would the perception that Julia Gillard and the ALP are incompetent possibly have anything to do with it? Could it be that the now (in)famous misogyny speech has backfired?

Loved it, Fiona! It's exactly right. (I think this because it expresses what I was already thinking, always a good clue to correctness). I do think Tony used to do himself a lot of harm by his bombastic, unstatesmanlike style in his attacks on the PM, whether or not we agreed with the actual content. And sure enough, we've liked him more as we've seen and heard him less.
