Compassion - your cartoon today has brought tears to my eyes - not of laughter, but sorrow - and hopefully, compassion. Keep telling it like it is.

I would rather say "Abbott-Liberal Style", I really hope that this does not represent the majority of Australians. However, the very few racist-selfish-liberal Australians are in good company (see Hungarian), while on the subject of hypocrisy the company is much wider (English, French, German and Americans). As usual the best countries-populations (or the least worst) are the most "poor".

Sometimes only a cartoon can tell a cruel truth

Hi Paolo, Sadly, it's Labor style too. We should never forget that Rudd introduced the "You'll never ever come to Australia if you come by boat" rule and Shorten has backed every one of Abbott's cruel measures, including, gobsmackingly, the NON-mandatory reporting of child abuse. I've heard Laborites argue that they have to agree with everything the govt says to "neutralise" the issue but all it does is make the Coalition go even further to try and wedge them. It is absurd. Labor should hang its head in shame yet instead they're often forgiven because they pretend feel slightly bad about the evil done in our name. Cheers Fiona

Ciao Fiona, probably you're right, but in life (not only in political life) most of the time we can only choose the "lesser evil".
Black and white in life is very rare, and most of the time there are only "shades of gray", you would like not to choose, but we need to do so, we must contribute.
By the way, thanks for your contribution, your wit and your ruthlessness are very appreciated, especially in a world where people are afraid to take a strong stance in public and against the tide. Ciao, Paolo
