'Stop-loss' movie poster A decorated, young soldier makes a celebrated return to his small Texas hometown following his tour of duty in Iraq, only to find his life turned upside down when he is arbitrarily ordered to return back to duty by the Army, against his will.

STOP-LOSS is directed by award winning, Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry), and stars Ryan Phillippe, Abbie Cornish and Channing Tatum.

With no hint of regret or apology, John Howard has defended his decision to join the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He gives no consideration to the just war criteria. This is not surprising, as on all these principles the case for a just war fails.
