The bank senior management realize they can most likely not pass the tax along to their customers. Hence their vocal displeasure. In addition, the new tax constructs a new hurdle to share price growth which will make it more difficult for the senior staff to benefit from an increase in the value of their stock. This directly affects their compensation. More than likely is a big way. The banks enjoy an oligopoly with government backing. They should pay for this privileged position.
